Warmoth Custom Guitar & Bass Parts
So I have discovered this HIGHLY addictive hobby of building custom guitars. I use the term “build” loosely. I would love to actually scratch build but I lack the woodworking tools and shop facilities to do it. So instead I have necks and bodies made and then I finish (stain/paint) them and do all the assembly.
I am a huge Fender fan. I love Telecasters (I have four of them) and Stratocasters (I have two of those as well). While Fender makes solid electric guitars, in my opinion, but they are assembly line products. They really lack creativity in the aesthetics department. I mean the colour (yes colour has a U in it, I’m Canadian eh) palette has barely changed in the last 40 years. And who has the money to commission a Custom Shop job? That is why I like building my own. You can see on my “Guitar Build” page the two I have completed thus far. I am currently working on a knotty pine Esquire.
Warmoth is my supplier of choice for guitar necks and bodies. Their craftsmanship is outstanding. You can buy from their vast assortment of in stock items or as I have done have them custom build. The pricing is reasonable for the quality you get.
